A Level Equivalence Calculator with Official IBCC Grading

The IBCC A-level Equivalence Calculator by edumap.blog aims to simplify the process of converting International Cambridge grades and qualifications to meet Pakistani education system standards. Similarly for O level Equivalence Calculation we have an online calculator with the most trusted and accurate conversion.

IBCC's calculation method supports various educational systems including British, A Level, IB program, and American, using the official IBCC website and latest conversion formula with standard marks.

A Level Equivalence Calculator:

The calculations are most accurate and trustworthy, there may be a slight difference of few marks in total marks due to different subject groups and streams.  With my personal research and analysis, I am highly confident that the result would be very close to your original IBCC equivalence. If you want O-level equivalence then click here.

A-Level Equivalence Calculator by edumap.blog

This online calculating tool translates A levels scores into FSc equivalent scores by official grading and percentage formats, ensuring standardized comparisons across boards, which is crucial for students in Pakistan seeking further education or employment, adhering to equivalence rules.

A Level Equivalence Calculation Method:

Here is a detailed step-by-step explanation of the method to manually calculate A-Level equivalence in Pakistan with reference marks and formula from IBCC (Inter Board Committee of Chairmen) in Pakistan:

Step 1: Understand the grading and marks conversion

Each A-Level grade corresponds to specific marks assigned by IBCC. For example:

  • A* for Physics = 93 marks
  • A* for Chemistry = 93 marks
  • A* for Biology = 94 marks
  • A = 85 marks
  • B = 75 marks
  • C = 65 marks
  • D = 55 marks
  • E = 45 marks
  • F = 0 marks

Step 2: Collect your marks

  • O-Level grading total marks are out of 800. Obtain your O-Level total marks (already explained in O-Level equivalence). e.g for 8 subjects we get 750 marks
  • A-Level has 3 principal subjects considered for equivalence. Obtain grades of your 3 A-Level subjects with above marks grading in step 1. e.g for 3 subject each A* grade we get (93+93+94) 280 marks

Step 3: Calculate total marks obtained

  • Add your obtained O-Level marks (out of 800) to the sum of the converted A-Level subject marks. e.g 280 + 750 = 1030
  • This sum is your total obtained marks out of 1100 (800 from O-Level + 300 from 3 A-Level subjects).

Step 5: Calculate HSSC Equivalence

The HSSC equivalence formula as per IBCC is:

HSSC Equivalence Marks=(1100Total Obtained Marks)×1100

Step 6: Calculate HSSC equivalence percentage

To find the percentage score:

HSSC Percentage=(1100HSSC Equivalence Marks)×100

This gives your equivalence percentage which can be used for university admissions and merit calculations.

FAQs:

Q1. How Is A Level Equivalence Calculated?

Ans: To calculate level equivalence, use IBCC-approved formulas to determine equivalent marks for A-Level and O-Level grades, add them, and calculate final percentage out of 1100.

Q2. How Much Is 60% In A Levels?

Ans: The percentage conversion rate for A-Level grades in 2025 is approximately Grade A = 80-99%, with the range for B = 70-79%, C= 60-69%, and D = 50-59%.

Q3. How To Get A Level Equivalence Certificate In Pakistan?

Ans: Register at equivalence.ibcc.edu.pk, log in, submit application via courier, pay the equivalence fee, send documents to IBCC Office, and track application.

Q4. How Is The Equivalency Calculator?

Ans: The calculator translates O-Level grades (A*, A, B, C, D, E) into numerical marks according to the IBCC guidelines. These marks are summed and compared against the Pakistani Matriculation system, which has a total score of 1050 marks.

Q5. What Is The Fee For An Equivalence Certificate?

Ans: The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) charges approximately PKR 6,000 for foreign qualifications, while the Higher Education Commission (HEC) charges around PKR 5,000. Urgent services for O/A Levels via IBCC cost PKR 12,000.

Q6. What Is The Equivalent Of A Level In Pakistan?

Ans: In Pakistan, the A-Level qualification is viewed as equivalent to the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), covering grades 11 and 12. It permits students to specialize in subjects and is a recognized route for university admission in Pakistan.

Q7. What Is An Equivalent Calculator?

Ans: Equivalent calculator online converts your grades into Pakistani equivalence marks to use them locally for education/employment purposes. Edumap provides very accurate and trusted calculationd from official and latest formula.

Q8. How Long Does It Take To Get An Equivalence Certificate In Pakistan?

Ans: Processing an equivalence certificate takes 15-20 working days. To track your application, visit the official IBCC website at https://ibcc.edu.pk/

Q9. How Many A Levels Are Required In Pakistan?

Ans: Most universities in Pakistan typically require three A Level subjects, with some programs demanding specific subjects. International universities may have similar or more precise requirements.
